FolioRoam has no account system, contact form or newsletter signup. Saved books, comparisons, read or hidden choices, and language and market preferences are stored in this browser using localStorage.
Google Analytics and your settings
Google Analytics 4 is on by default. It loads when you visit the production website unless this browser has a valid saved refusal. Google Analytics uses cookies and browser identifiers to measure visits and connect activity across pages. The default is a website setting, not a record that you agreed. Turning it off does not limit book discovery or other site features.
While Analytics is on, Google receives page views and clicks on Amazon links, together with technical information such as browser and device details. We send a page address without query parameters or fragments, a general page title and the interface language. Recognized public Facebook campaign links may also send their allowlisted source, medium, campaign and post code. Other query values and arbitrary campaign text are not sent. For Amazon clicks we may also send the Amazon marketplace, product identifier (ASIN), the catalogue identifier of the book actually linked, the destination type (product, search or other), and a verified edition language when known. Unknown editions remain unknown. This records a click, not a purchase. Controlled quality checks can be marked as QA/debug traffic or excluded for the current tab session; a QA marker does not itself remove events from Google reports.
We do not send search terms, saved lists, comparisons, read or hidden book lists, names or email addresses to Analytics. Referrers are reduced to their website origin before we send them. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled, and advertising consent remains denied. Analytics is enabled only on the production website at folioroam.com.
Open “Analytics settings” in the footer and choose “Turn analytics off” to stop future Google Analytics collection and remove this site's Google Analytics cookies. A valid saved refusal, including one made under our earlier settings, prevents Google Analytics from loading on later visits. Data already sent is not deleted by turning Analytics off. Choose “Turn analytics on” to enable it again.
Only a choice you make is saved locally, for up to 180 days. When it expires or you clear this site's storage, Analytics returns to the default on setting. Analytics cookies have a maximum lifetime of 180 days without automatic renewal by our configuration. If browser storage is unavailable, a change applies only to the current page; Analytics returns to the default on setting on the next page. Closing the notice does not save a choice.
Google processes analytics data according to its Privacy Policy. You can also read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Analytics settings are separate from the browser storage needed to remember your requested reading tools and preferences.
Saved books and reading preferences
Your saved list and reading choices stay in this browser and are not sent to Amazon or uploaded to a FolioRoam account. Use the Saved view or the controls on a book to update those choices. Clearing this site's browser storage removes them. They do not sync between devices or browsers.
Searching the catalogue
Your query and selected filters are sent to our server. The curated discovery search is matched against our editorial catalogue. When you use the separate Kindle edition search for a connected store, the server sends the search terms and catalogue parameters to Amazon Creators API. Queries can include a title, author, genre and selected language. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in book search.
Search parameters appear in the page URL and may be recorded in browser history or hosting access logs. Results are held temporarily in server memory for up to fifteen minutes to reduce repeated requests. We do not maintain a personal search history. The smaller “Our books” collection also offers local filters, which run against the entries already on that page.
Prices, book covers and external links
Displayed Kindle prices are requested from Amazon through our server for the selected book identifiers. These requests do not include your saved list. Price data is held in server memory for up to fifteen minutes. Curated cover sources are fixed editorial records and do not require an Amazon request.
Reader-review links open external services such as StoryGraph or Goodreads. A Goodreads search link includes the book title and author, not your FolioRoam reading history. Those services have their own privacy practices.
Our publishing covers load from this website. Verified reference-edition covers load directly from Open Library’s cover service and its image hosts, or the identified publisher’s image host with no referrer sent; the image host receives the normal technical network information needed to deliver the file. Source links identify their reference edition. We do not send saved lists or call a book-search API when displaying covers. Following an Amazon link opens a service with its own privacy practices. Affiliate links include our tracking ID, not a personal identifier assigned to you by FolioRoam.
FolioRoam does not receive your Amazon password or payment details. Amazon may provide aggregate affiliate reporting to its Associates; our website does not identify individual purchasers from that reporting.

Our hosting service processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website. We update this page when the website's data handling changes.
